GIVE DAY

#strongtogether

The Kankakee Community College (KCC) Foundation presents GIVE DAY 2020 #strongtogether. GIVE DAY is the one day that alumni, families, students, staff, faculty, and friends unite to support one common goal: supporting the Kankakee Community College Mission—enhancing the quality of life through learning.

The KCC Foundation would like to acknowledge that this year’s event is happening during a very challenging time in our community. Given the unprecedented changes occurring on our campus and the impact of the pandemic on our community, it feels right to unite our college community and supporters in a common effort. We also know that our students need our support more than ever. 100% of your gift will have a direct and immediate impact on KCC students.

We sincerely hope that you consider helping make KCC’s GIVE DAY #strongtogether a success. Any gift, no matter what the size, can change lives. You can designate which fund you would like your donation to benefit:

Student Success Stories

When you donate to KCC GIVE DAY #strongtogether, you will be a part of a student’s success story:

“I am passionate about becoming a nurse and my experience at KCC has made me confident that I will be a wonderful nurse. My children and I are extremely grateful I was able to receive an award because it means I am able to spend more time studying and quality time. I cannot wait until I am able to give back and help other students like myself, because without people like you that have the ability to help I wouldn’t be standing where I am today.” ‑ Ashley S.

“Because of generous donors like you, I can advance in a business career to become the best I can be!” ‑ Callie V.

“I’m working on getting into the Registered Nursing program here at KCC and fulfilling my career goals. We all know how much average school books are, especially nursing books that are vital in our learning experience and it all adds up, and on top of registration fees, the multiple classes being added for the program, the tools, etc. It all adds up. So I just want to say thank you to The KCC Foundation for your commitment to my education and helping me reach my goals, it means so much to me.” ‑ Emilee A.

“Since I was a little girl, I always dreamed of going to college, graduating, wearing a cap and gown, and receiving a diploma. The financial assistance you provide will be a great help in paying for my educational expenses. It will also allow me to concentrate more of my time studying and working towards my life-long goal. Again, I am deeply appreciative of your support and commitment to helping me get one step closer to future success. Thank you so much! I promise to work hard and not give up on my goals and dreams!” ‑ Cruz D.

“The money aspect of a college education has always been a factor contributing to when and where I could go to further my education, but that has not stopped me. As an immigrant, things are not always at one's leisure, after high school I did not know what I was going to do because I knew financial aids like FAFSA were not a possibility and I did not believe at the time that there was assistance for immigrants. I was fortunate enough to be accepted for the Deferred Action for childhood Arrivals, also known as DACA, which I am grateful for and it did open doors of possibilities that I did not have before. Such opportunities as being able to have a job and attending college. DACA has allowed me to have a job that then allowed me to finance my first associate degree at Kankakee Community College. By me being able to work I have had the opportunity to pay for school on my own. I am the first in my family to attend college, have any degree and have so far financed that through my own labor in hopes of one day having a career in the law field as a paralegal or attorney. My financial need for attending college is urgent and full of opportunity for my future.” ‑ Victor M.

”I believe my drive is what sets me apart from others. I know that nursing is where I belong and I won't stop until I fulfill that purpose. I have three daughters. I want to show them that they can do anything that their heart desires as long as they put forward the effort.” ‑ Lenore M.

“Thank you so much for your generous offering. My education plans after KCC are to transfer to Illinois State University to pursue a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. After I achieve this goal, my career goal is to work my way up in a company and potentially start my own business.” ‑ Kevin R.
